adjectives to describe TONE

Describing TONE
Is the tone of your book humorous and light, playful and whimsical?  Or is it dark, somber, disdainful and at times even morbid?   Or perhaps it is impartial, objective, informative, and completely candid?  Perhaps you admire writers who are dramatic, urgent, ones who highlight the violent and turgid emotions?  Or maybe you're more in the mood for some effusive, poetic, lyrical writing laden with imagery?

Which of your teachers speaks to you with a pedantic, factual tone?  Which of your teachers is always loving, reassuring in tone?  Do you have friends who speak in a pretentious tone?  Do you and your friends have colloquial language?  Would you say your vocabulary is sophomoric?  Are you feeling lugubrious today?
